Why wait until the Spring? The Autumn and Winter months often bring ideal sailing weather and with the right clothing (which we provide), winter sailing can be great fun. You will find more information on our Winter Sailing page.
The winter months are also great for logging night hours and we run special weekend courses with this in mind. We leave Burnham on Saturday afternoons and generally arrive in Harwich in the early hours of Sunday morning, clocking up at least 8 night hours during the trip.
Night hours are essential for any budding skipper, particularly those working towards Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster qualifications.
If you have never done it before, arriving at a major port like Harwich at night is a really magical experience. Picking out the right buoys from amongst the clutter of shore lights is a real challenge and completing the task safely is hugely satisfying. Your first night trip is one you will never forget.
These two-day courses including all meals on-board (and as you will arrive too late for the pubs, that generally means all your meals). Please contact us for dates.
