Esential Navigation and Seamanship Theory On-line Interactive

We now offer the RYA Esential Navigation and Seamanship Theory course on-line (ask for the enrolment procedure) as an alternative to the 2 day classroom training.

The course is aimed at a wide audience, including anyone new to sailing, as well as experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers.

You will receive a course pack which includes course handbook, exercises and an electronic chart plotter CD.

Suggested Minimum Pre-course Experience: None
Assumed Knowledge: None
Course content: Charts and publications, safety, buoyage, tidal awareness, basic navigation and pilotage, rules of the road, electronic navigation, anchoring, weather forecasts, passage planning.
Ability after course: Following the course students will have a basic awareness and understanding of navigation and safety.
Minimum duration: Online the course will take around six hours, but the beauty of it is that you can work through it at your own speed, whenever and wherever you like.

This course is the perfect stepping stone to the more in-depth Day Skipper Theory course, or to courses on the water such as the Start Yachting or Day Skipper courses.
