Joining Instructions

Practical sailing courses aboard Piranha sail from North Fambridge and you will find us at the marina (Yacht Haven) on berth No 7 in front of the Marina Reception We fly the RYA flag. Please telephone if you get lost 07885 333922 or the Marina Reception 01621 740370. Free parking is anywhere you find near the Reception.

By Road Fambridge is only 30 minutes from the M25 and one of the closest marinas to London. From South Woodham Ferrers, follow the signs towards Burnham and after 4 miles, turn right towards North Fambridge (signposted "Marina").

For the Marina (Yacht Haven), carry straight on until you reach the marina entrance barrier. We will give you the code with your joining instructions. Our yacht 'Piranha' is on berth Number 7 in front of the harbour reception office.The marina postcode is CM3 6LU.

FYI SOME TIMES WE ARE AT THE Yacht Station But you will be in formed of this, turn left into Ferry Road (signposted Ferry Boat Inn). Just past the the Ferry Boat Inn turn left into the Yacht Station and continue to the end of the gravel track. The Yacht Station postcode is CM3 6LR.

You can also travel by train to Fambridge station which is on the Southminster Branch Line. Call us shortly before you arrive and we will pick you up from the station.

You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow cases (we supply pillows and cushions), wash gear and a towel plus at least one full change of clothes. Bring a hat and gloves or sun glasses and sun cream depending on the time of year. Sailing shoes are better than trainers but not essential. Treat it as if you were going camping and the yacht is your transport and tent. We supply life jackets and wet weather gear at no charge. Please let us know in advance of any dietry requirements, you are wlcome to bring any of your favourite foods, we have a fridge.

You will need an RYA Log Book "G15" for your instructor to sign. We can supply these and other course books at the start of your course or you can get them from any good chandlers.

Shore-based courses (Not Diesel Engine) are held at the Burnham Saling Club, Rememberance Avenue, Burnham, CM0 8AS, (Turn right opposite Tesco) Diesel Engine courses are held at our office address.
