Practical sailing courses sail from North Fambridge (not Burnham) and you will find us at the Yacht Station near the Ferry Boat Inn (not the marina)
By Road North Fambridge is only 30 minutes from the M25 and one of the closest marinas to London. From South Woodham Ferrers, follow the signs towards Burnham and after 4 miles, turn right towards North Fambridge (signposted "Marina"). After about a mile, turn left into Ferry Road (signposted Ferry Boat Inn). Just past the the Ferry Boat Inn turn left into the Yacht Station and continue to the end of the gravel track where you will find free parking.

PLEASE NOTE: OUR SAILING BASE IS NORTH FAMBRIDGE, NOT BURNHAM AND THAT WE ARE NOW BASED ON THE YACHT STATION, NOT THE MARINA.
You can also travel by train to Fambridge station which is on the Southminster Branch Line. You can pre-arrange & then call us shortly before you arrive and we will pick you up from the station. Its about a 15/20 min walk.
You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, wash gear and a towel plus at least one full
change of clothes. A Fleece and scarf, and if you ski then ski jacket and salopettes, bring a hat and gloves or sun glasses and sun cream
depending on the time of year. Sailing shoes are better than trainers
but not essential, BUT NO BLACK SOLED SHOES PLEASE. Treat it as if you were going camping and the yacht
is your transport and tent. We supply life jackets and wet weather
gear at no charge. Please let us know in advance of any dietary requirements, you are welcome to bring any of your favorite foods, we have a fridge. Piranha is a 'Dry ship' that means we do not allow alcohol whilst sailing, but of course a dram or two in the evening at the local is fine.
You will need an RYA Log Book "G15" for your instructor
to sign. We can supply these at the start of
your course for £7 or you can get them from any good chandlers.
Times: Unless told otherwise you should join the course at 0900 on the start day. Some courses allow you to join the evening before, we will inform you of this and give you the time to join and who will greet you. If you are delayed you can call Des on 07557 474160

Shore-based courses (other than Diesel Engine) are held at the North Fambridge Yacht Club. Follow the directions above to the Yacht Station. The yacht club building is on the left at the top of the pontoon gangway.
